Robin Thomas qualified as a chemical engineer at Birmingham University and spent most of his working life at an engineering company in Reading. While working he studied for a part time degree in English Studies at the Polytechnic of North London, followed by an MA in Victorian poetry at the Open University. He formed an interest in writing poetry during this period but only managed to write occasionally.

He has been writing regularly since around 2010 when other life pressures eased and he completed the MA in Writing Poetry at Kingston University in 2012. His books so far are A Fury of Yellow published byEyewear (2016), Momentary Turmoil (2018) and A Distant Hum (2021) published byCinnamon, Cafferty’s Truck by Dempsey and Windle (2021), The Weather on the Moon published by Two Rivers Press (2022) and reminded of something by Cinnamon (2023).

He has had poems published in many poetry magazines and is represented in several anthologies. He has also published two Flash Fiction Novellas – Margot and the Strange Objects (Adhoc Fiction, 2022) and The lion, the lord, the lower orders and the Belt and Road Initiative (Alien Buddha, 2023).
